"Trailblazing" is the product of Lisa's journey to Nepal alone to make a film addressing an aspect of gender inequality and how it detracts from women's full participation in the sustainable development of Nepal. She shot the film in the winter and spring of 2004 in Mini DV format. It was edited at Memorial University of Newfoundland's DELT facility in February 2005.
